Some weeks are just filled to the brim. I’m sure you know that feeling where there is more “to do” than there feels there is time, where there are so many plates spinning it is hard to remember which one needs attention next.

For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” But you were unwilling.

My mom was the youngest of four girls. Her oldest sister, who was two decades older than my mom, was a tiny little Southern spitfire. My aunt had something to say about everything under the sun. If she was shocked or surprised by something, she would loudly proclaim, “Well, I declare!”
